Elizabeth Arden (Mrs. Graham) tried to hire Henri Robert in the early 1950's when she wanted to get more into perfume (Blue Grass was aging at that time.)

He reportedly asked for a salary of $30,000 a year, which she thought was too high.

She lost Robert and Chanel gained him. We don't know what Chanel was willing to pay.
