Custom Bottles

Custom bottles are what distinguish the "big" players from the "mom and pops" of the perfume world. If you have money behind your product, you go hog wild and spend it on your custom bottle, right? Perhaps. Or not necessarily so.To better the product you have IN your bottle, the less need there is to spend on the bottle. If you don't believe me, buy a bottle of Hermes' "Un Jardin sur le Nil." Look at the bottle (simple) the box (simple, although very well constructed) and then sniff the fragrance. ("Sniff" isn't a technical term ... it what, in reality, we do.)What you'll find is that here is a fragrance that you can expect will be around for a few years. It doesn't depend on the rise and fall of a celebrity. It doesn't sell because of fancy, eye-catching packaging. It's just an extraordinary fragrance -- and, in today's crowded market -- one that stands out, thanks to it's quality and originality. A breath of fresh (Nile) air!So there is hope for me and you when we develop our own perfums. Perhaps we don't have to have the fancy bottle (which we can't afford to produce.) IF our product -- the perfume -- is a success, perhaps that alone will "sell" it. Of course we know that in real life there is so much more.
