Dowthwaite, founder and chief instructor of PerfumersWorld, Bangkok, Thailand, will be giving a 5-Day Course in Creative Fine Perfumery in New York City, starting on May 5th, 2008, running through May 9th, 2008.

Currently no similar classes in fine perfumery creation are available in the United States.

The 5-Day Course is a hands-on experience intended as a beginning of your perfumery education. You will be learning what it takes to create a perfume, you will be shown — right in front of your own eyes — examples of perfume creation, and you will be encouraged to begin creating your own fragrances.

The 5-Day Course is not intended to give you a full and final education in perfumery. Rather, it was designed to give you an intelligent starting point in perfume creation from which you can build your skills, aided by PerfumersWorld correspondence courses (which include necessary materials), PerfumersWorld on site courses for small groups of advanced students, and the practical experience you gain as you begin to apply the lessons you are exposed to in the 5-Day Course.

There are NO prerequisites for this course. A background in chemistry is NOT needed.

The 5-Day Course is limited to 50 students. We will maintain a "standby" list for those initially shut out but who would like a chance to attend, should a cancellation occur.
